Meditation:

Meditation is a process of in which one takes time to focus your mind in a chosen direction. Some practises focus on body relaxation, while others focus on mind concepts. Tai Chi is a form of mind and body meditation. One thing that most, if not all have in common, is that they are practised in a controlled environment. Controlling the environment allows for a sense of security as well as eliminating interruption. These things can greatly assist the novice in learning to meditate. The ability to take the next step and bring meditation into your life in general, is often overlooked, or held to such a high standard that most are discouraged from even attempting to do so. Almost every good athlete will tell you that their ability to focus has a tremendous impact on their success. Focus is a component of meditation. To be able to focus one must be able to close out distractions, the same as when you meditate. When you are concentrating on putting a puzzle together, reading a book, learning a new lesson, you are requiring yourself to focus, or meditate on a particular process. When you concentrate on your driving from point A to point B you are focused and meditative.

There are many times in life where people will address you and you are so deep in thought that you do not hear them. This to is a deep meditative state. If you can relate to any of these experiences, you not only can, but do meditate. The benefits of meditation are now being recognized not only by corporations, but by medicine as well. It has been shown that individuals who meditate, are more productive and less stressed, and therefore healthier. A lot of individuals will have the desire to meditate, or the intention to do so, but for whatever reason, life gets in the way and they do not join the class or take the time. What you can do though is recognize that life is filled with meditative moments. When you recognize such, you give credence to the benefits of the meditative state. Those benefits are then a part of you and not some abstract thing that you must take time out of your day for. It still behoves one to attempt to take that time for yourself as it recognizes self value. The Transcendors have stated that even a toad meditates, so it can’t be that difficult. So the next time you catch yourself daydreaming, taking time to read, or focusing on work, just remember, it is a form of meditation and therefore healthy for your body, mind and soul.

Dare to Be Positive:

Cynicism can quickly become a way of life if one allows the negative things happening in our world to invade our everyday life. One would by no means advocate ignoring the world around us, but rather not allow those happenings to overwhelm us and make one feel impotent. If one believes they can have no impact on their world, they have accepted a life devalued, a life lacking in purpose, a lacking of self. .

No matter what negative things the world throws at you, you have to believe there is a way and a means to make things better, to improve upon the negative, and thereby, build on the belief in yourself, and the world you live in. If you succumb to the negative, you feed the negative reality. Before you know it, you have become the reflection of the negative reality. I can’t, I don’t know how, I don’t know what, why me, are just a few of the negative thoughts that can feed on you, weaken your resolve, and make you question your ability to cope. It is a spiral that only leads down to the probability of despair and hopelessness.

If one however, believes in positive potential no matter the circumstances, you instil hope, and with hope anything is possible. If you believe in the world, you have to believe in the endless possibilities that the world can and will provide. If you believe in yourself, you have to believe in others. If you believe that you care, you must believe that others do as well. If you believe there is meaning and purpose to life, you must believe you can find that meaning and purpose, within, outside or beyond the negative.

It would actually be easier to simply give up and succumb to the negative, to throw our arms up and surrender. If we all joined in and did just that, we could become non-entities drifting aimlessly through reality, without purpose, hope or desire. We would have no impact on anything or anyone, living in a state of negative disconnected reality. The sources have stated “you cannot build on a negative”, therefore I Dare You To Be Positive.

Make it a great year, and Thank you for your continued support.

Personal Development

Each and everyone of us attempts in some way to add to ourselves in order to attain a sense of personal growth. Have you ever attempted to look at yourself as though you were someone else?

Sit down with a pen and paper and list all the things you can remember having done in yourlife. An example may be graduating school, running a marathon, fixing a flat tire for a stranger, falling in love. Make sure you list everything you can remember, including babysitting your siblings. After completing your list, go back and read it as objectively as possible. Most people are amazed at how much they have accomplished in life. Now, ask yourself how you feel about your successes in life. All these things you have done are your successes, see them as such and don't hesitate to feel good about them.

Philosophy

It is within our nature to look forward in life. We dream of things to come, of what we would like to accomplish, or would if we could. Sometimes we can get so caught up in what if's and maybes that we overlook the here and now. As much as we build to the future it is the here and now that provides the rewards of life. If you can see what you have and the value that lay within this moment of time, so will you recognize the values yet to be reaped. Modern society has trained man to be an accumulator, not that there is anything wrong with possessions, however, if the possessions become more valuable than the process of achievement we loose the lesson of growth. Often the most overlooked treasure in our moment of existence are the people around us. Parents, who break the path for us and pass on their experiences, good and bad, provide the basic foundation we build upon. Siblings who teach us competition and acceptance. Friends who bring us variety and distraction. We so often see these people from a point of reference based on our own needs that we feel as though they are the needy ones, and take from us, failing to recognize what they bring to us. People are attracted to us based on our need for them as well as their need for us. If we take a moment to recognize this we see the complimentary reality. Value that which represents the successes in your life but do not fail to treasure the people who compliment it.
